Watch: Swimmer Riley Gaines Fires Back at Dem Squad Member Who Called Her ‘Transphobic’ During Title IX Hearing

Rep. Summer Lee (D-Pa.) labeled Gaines’ speech transphobic as the former NCAA swimmer spoke out against biological males competing in women’s sports.

Former NCAA swimmer Riley Gaines testified before the House Oversight Committee Tuesday, speaking out against biological males competing in women’s sports and squaring off against a Democrat “Squad” member who attempted to label her remarks “transphobic.”

Gaines’ testimony addressed how allowing males who identify as “transgender” to play against biological females violates Title IX, the federal rule meant to prevent discrimination in sports.

“Let me be perfectly clear: A school that knowingly allows a male athlete to take a spot on a women’s team or allows a male athlete to take the field in a women’s game is denying a female student athletic opportunity, and that is sex-based discrimination and it violates Title IX,” Gaines testified.

“It is my sincere hope that members of this committee will take action to stop the Biden administration’s illegal administrative rewrite of Title IX,” she added.

Gaines’ commentary on the subject comes from experience as she competed against infamous NCAA biologically male transgender UPenn swimmer Lia Thomas while on the University of Kentucky’s swim team.

At one point during the hearing, Squad member Rep. Summer Lee (D-Pa.) asked the committee to strike one of Gaines’ comments from the record, claiming it was riddled with “transphobic” language.

“It’s disappointing to me that although the title of this hearing implies a much-needed discussion we’re likely going to be forced to listen to transphobic bigotry,” Lee stated. “Because actually protecting female athletes and Title IX is important. Participating in sports provides so many benefits to our young people.”

“Madam Chair, I ask that while we sit through this hearing and the hateful misinformation I’m sure is coming our way, let us not forget the children at the core of this issue,” the first-year rep added.

The New York Post reports: “After a brief discussion, Lee’s point of order was withdrawn and the hearing resumed.”

Gaines shot back using Lee’s same intersectional language, asserting the Democrat’s argument sounded close to misogyny.

“Of course, there is a place for everyone, regardless of gender identity, regardless of sexual orientation, regardless of race or what sports you play. There’s a place for everyone to play sports in this country,” Gaines said.

They HATE when their intersectional language is used against them.

“But unsafe, unfair and discriminatory practices towards women must stop. Inclusion cannot be prioritized over safety and fairness, and ranking member Lee, if my testimony makes me transphobic then I believe your opening monologue makes you a misogynist.”

Ahead of the hearing, Daily Wire CEO Jeremy Boreing highlighted a short clip from his recent movie “Lady Ballers,” which lampoons biological males dominating women’s sports.

“I thought they needed a reminder that men pretending to be women and brutally dominating women’s sports is something to be mocked, not an idea to be written into law,” noted Boreing.

Later during the hearing, Rep. Eric Burlison (R-Mo.) also referred to the “Lady Ballers” film.

A movie so important, it was mentioned in a congressional hearing!#LadyBallers with the assist, but @Riley_Gaines_ for the win with her excellent testimony.

If you would like to see women still have a role in women’s sports, demand legislative action.

“The Biden administration’s Title IX rewrite is a direct attack on women’s rights,” commented Republican Florida Gov. and GOP presidential hopeful Ron DeSantis, who Gaines previously endorsed.
