Victim doused in flammable liquid and set ablaze while sitting at bus stop
Authorities in Washington D.C. say they are searching for a suspect who doused a man in flammable liquid and set him ablaze in broad daylight this week.
The horrifying incident unfolded just after 3 p.m. on Monday in the nation’s capital.
The suspect approached a man sitting at a bus stop at the intersection of North Capitol Street and P Street Northwest in Northwest D.C.
The suspect poured an accelerant on the victim, then lit him on fire before running away, authorities say.
The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) released a surveillance image of the suspect who appears to be carrying a jar of some kind.
