During Monday’s airing of the Emmy Awards, famous drag queen and television host RuPaul of RuPaul’s Drag Race told the audience that people who oppose drag queen story time at children’s libraries are trying to scare them.
Keen-eyed viewers of the award show noticed a literal demon goblin creature standing alongside RuPaul as he told this to the crowd.

“If a drag queen wants to read you a story at a library, listen to her because knowledge is power, and if someone tries to restrict your access to power, they are trying to scare you. So listen to a drag queen!” RuPaul said.
The irony of an actual goblin being onstage while RuPaul claimed conservatives are trying to scare people was not lost on internet users.
