UFC President Dana White smacked down a liberal reporter incensed by his refusal to control what fighters are allowed to say.
Following the UFC 297 event in Toronto, Canada on Saturday, a reporter began to ask White why he allows fighters to spout remarks tinged with “homophobia and transphobia,” referring to recent remarks by UFC champion Sean Strickland to another liberal reporter.
“You obviously give a long leash to your fighters about what they can say when they are up there with the UFC microphone, and you are getting into territory of homophobia and transphobia, like, is there–” the reporter began.
“I don’t give anybody a leash. A leash? Free speech,” White responded. “Control what people say and to tell people what to believe? I don’t fuckin’ tell any other human being what to say, what to think, and there’s no leashes on any of them. What is your question?”

“I was asking that question…I’ll move on though,” the reporter stammered.
“Yeah, probably a good idea,” White replied. “That’s ridiculous to say I give somebody a leash. Free speech, brother. People can say whatever they want and they can believe whatever they want.”
Strickland last week went viral for lambasting a Canadian reporter over his pro-transgender stance and support for Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

Strickland’s disdain for Trudeau was widely shared by the UFC crowd who chanted “F*ck Trudeau” during Saturday’s event.
