Ukraine Aid Bill Contains ‘Impeachment Time Bomb’ If Trump Tries to Halt Funding, Warns US Senator

The Deep State could be attempting to sabotage former President Donald Trump’s next term, warns Sen. JD Vance (R-Ohio).

A $95 billion aid package supporting Ukraine’s war against Russia appears to contain an “impeachment time bomb” that would sabotage Donald Trump’s second presidential term if he tries to stop funding like he did in his first term, Sen. J.D. Vance (R-Ohio) is warning.

The senator sounded the alarm on the bill making its way through Congress Monday, warning it dedicates the same dollar amounts to Ukraine that were frozen by Trump during his term, which were then cited by Democrats during one of their impeachment efforts.

I just sent the below memo to every one of my Republican colleagues in Congress.

Buried in the bill’s text is an impeachment time bomb for the next Trump presidency if he tries to stop funding the war in Ukraine.

“The false argument put forward by Democrats was/is as follows,” Sen. Vance wrote in a memo to Republican colleagues, “as President Trump had allegedly paused these funds because he wished to see the corrupt nexus between the Biden family and Ukraine investigated, President Trump had abused his power, with the aim of interfering with the U.S. presidential election.”

Sen. Vance goes on to point out one main contention with Trump throughout the impeachment was his halting of Ukraine funding against the advice of so-called foreign policy experts.

Now, as Trump has suggested he would once again halt funding, Democrats seem poised to launch another impeachment should he win re-election, with funding set to expire well into his potential second term.

“President Trump has said, in regard to the war in Ukraine, ‘We got to get that war settled and I’ll get it settled,’” writes Sen. Vance, adding, “He has stated that he would resolve the war in 24 hours.”

“The bill includes $1.6 billion for foreign military financing in Ukraine, and $13.7 billion for the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative. These funds expire on September 30, 2025-nearly a year into the possible second term of President Trump. These are the exact same accounts President Trump was impeached for pausing in December 2019. Every single House Republican voted against this impeachment resolution.”

“If President Trump were to withdraw from or pause financial support for the war in Ukraine in order to bring the conflict to a peaceful conclusion, ‘over the objections of career experts,’ it would amount to the same fake violation of budget law from the first impeachment, under markedly similar facts and circumstances,” summarizes Sen. Vance.

Ultimately, “The supplemental represents an attempt by the foreign policy blob/deep state to stop President Trump from pursuing his desired policy, and if he does so anyways, to provide grounds to impeach him and undermine his administration,” Sen. Vance writes, adding, “All Republicans should oppose its passage.”

Responding to Vance’s warning, billionaire tech entrepreneur Elon Musk replied, “This is insane.”

The $95 billion aid package approved in a 67-27 vote in the Senate on Sunday would give $60.1 billion to Ukraine, $14.1 billion to Israel, and $10 billion to Taiwan. $9.15 billion in humanitarian to Palestine and $2.44 billion for operations around the Red Sea.

Democrats’ attempt to preemptively hamstring Trump’s second term shows they are panicked and preparing for the eventuality he wins re-election.
