Social Media Users Respond to Alex Jones Algorithmic Shadowban on X

X users confirm Jones posts being shadowbanned.

Infowars host Alex Jones is apparently still encountering lingering shadowban effects on the X social media platform months after his account was restored.

The conservative firebrand documented one issue with his account over the weekend where it appears some X users are unable to view posts of his live radio show pinned to the top of his @realAlexJones X feed.

Instead of seeing Jones’ live stream, some users are displayed an error message reading, “This post is unavailable.”

“I started noticing a few days ago that when I pin the post of my shows live feed it does not show up,” Jones described in an X post Monday, adding he “checked on [his] wife’s phones and it’s gone as well.”

I started noticing a few days ago that when I pin the post of my shows live feed it dose not show up. I just checked on my wife’s phone and it’s gone as well. Please tell me what you see when you go to my profile. I hope this post stays up. https://t.co/uWyvuspdpR

Several X users responded to Jones saying they were seeing the same thing, with Jones’ post of his show failing to show up.

The post is accessible when you visit it directly; however, it appears that X is using deceptive tactics to conceal it from potential viewers. pic.twitter.com/Hjthw1tmBt

One possible reason Jones’ posts aren’t appearing for some could be that detractors constantly wage mass flagging campaigns against his posts to purposely limit his reach.

check my post yesterday. it was like they hid Alex Jones account entirely. and I tried telling them. they will flag me and others, or suspend you without saying why or for what, then hide or disable the contact us. And there is no free speech, X is far left leaning. it was scam

Another possibility is Jones could be unknowingly violating unwritten “wrongspeak” or “wrongthink” rules of the platform’s posting algorithms, according to one X user who investigated the 13,000 lines of code associated with shadowbanning.

Engagement feel down for you?

It’s because you keep breaking the rules of the algorithm

I went through all 13,000 lines of code

“Talking about controversial topics: There are blacklisted topics you cannot talk about on this platform,” says entrepreneur Alex Finn. “It isn’t available in the front end code, so you need to make your best guesses here on what they are. Best bet: don’t get too spicy on your timeline.”

Here is EVERYTHING you want to avoid talking about in your posts

If your posts get labeled with one of these, your reach is going to start DROPPING

Have you broken any of these rules before?

The problem comes as numerous users are still reporting issues posting links to Alex Jones’ video platform Banned.video and even sharing the link in direct messages, an issue that arose during Big Tech’s censorship crusade against Jones in 2018.

Evidently, Elon Musk’s new X team still has some work to do restoring free speech and undoing the censorship algorithms of the company’s previous woke leftist developers.
