The farm, housing over a million birds, was totally destroyed by fire
An Illinois poultry farm housing over a million chickens caught fire on Wednesday night, causing massive loss of animal life and extensive damage to the property. The cause is undetermined at present, but the blaze will likely revive suspicions that the food supply is being deliberately targeted.
The fire was reported to the authorities at 6.30pm local time, and more than 27 fire departments from the local area attended. The flames reached 15,000 feet at their height.
By Thursday morning, the blaze had been put out. There were no human casualties, but the farm itself is said to be totally destroyed.

The cause of the fire has yet to be determined, according to the Marion County Sheriff’s Department.
Wabash Valley Produce, the owner of the farm, is the nation’s 24th largest egg producer, with farms in Indiana, Illinois and Ohio. It has yet to release a statement on the fire.
In late 2022 and early 2023, there were fires at dozens of farms and food-processing facilities across the US, including a fire at a Hillendale Farms chicken facility in Connecticut that killed 100,000 hens.
Tucker Carlson discussed the possibility that there might be some link between the disasters, and that they might not be disasters at all. He asked why the US government was not investigating them as suspicious.

“Food-processing plants across the country seem to be catching fire,” Tucker said on his Fox show.
“Industrial accidents happen, of course. But this is a lot of industrial accidents at food-processing facilities at the same time the president is warning us about food shortages.”
