Trump Fundraising Committee Teases First Event With Vice Presidential Pick at GOP Convention

Fundraising invitations suggest Trump will announce his running mate in the days just before July 17, the day of the first RNC fundraiser.

A joint fundraising committee affiliated with Donald Trump’s presidential campaign teased the first events featuring his eventual running mate during the Republican National Convention this month.

The Trump 47 committee is holding at least two fundraisers with the yet-to-be-unveiled Republican vice presidential candidate, according to copies of the invitations.

The first fundraiser, called the “Strength in Unity Reception“, will be held on July 17, where Trump’s VP pick will be in attendance.

The second fundraiser, “The Freedom First Event,” will be held the next day, before Trump formally accepts the presidential nomination.

The fundraising invitations suggest Trump will announce his running mate in the days just before July 17, the day of the first fundraiser.

The Republican convention is slated to begin on July 15 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

There has been much speculation about Trump’s possible vice presidential candidate in recent weeks.

Some possible candidates include  former Housing and Urban Development Secretary Ben Carson, Gov. Doug Burgum (R-N.D.), Sens. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), Tim Scott (R-S.C.), and J.D. Vance (R-Ohio), and Reps. Elise Stefanik (R-N.Y.), Byron Donalds (R-Fla.) and former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn.

Trump said last month that he had selected his running mate, but had yet to tell them.
