Victim fights back after gun-wielding suspect threatens to kill him
Police in Georgia say they have arrested a man suspected of breaking into a Chick-fil-A restaurant and threatening to kill an employee who managed to fight him off during a botched burglary.
The shocking incident unfolded in Gwinnett County on July 1, but the suspect remained on the loose for a month.
On July 31, Gwinnett County Police (GCP) released a statement about the case along with surveillance footage of the crime.

Just after 4 a.m. on that Monday, a masked man smashed a drive-thru window with a rock and forced his way into the popular fast food eatery on Stone Mountain Highway.
In the kitchen area, he encountered Kevin Blair, an inventory specialist who was setting up before store open.
“The suspect told the victim that he was going to die if he didn’t open the safe and pointed a handgun at him. The victim told police that he didn’t know the combination to the safe, so he decided to fight off the armed robber,” GCP explained in a press release.
During a scuffle lasting a couple of minutes, Blair managed to briefly disarm the suspect and rip his mask off.
“Well, if you’re going to shoot me, I’m not going to make it easy,” Blair told Atlanta News First.
“We’re trading blows. I’m hitting him. He’s hitting me. He’s throwing knees. I’m doing a lot of blocking, but my main focus was on that pistol and keeping that pistol pointed away from me.”
Eventually, the would-be thief fled the scene.
On July 31, GCP and U.S. Marshals arrested 51-year-old Tommie Lee Williams.
Williams faces a slew of charges including armed robbery, aggravated assault, second-degree burglary, kidnapping, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
