Former President Donald Trump on Thursday called an emergency press conference to counter the Kamala Harris campaign’s claims she’ll fix the economy, displaying everyday groceries to illustrate how food costs have become unaffordable for average Americans under her reign.
Addressing reporters outside his Bedminster, New Jersey, golf resort, Trump spoke surrounded by various groceries, including coffee, sweets, meat, fruit, bread, gallons of milk, and breakfast cereals.
“Harris has just declared that tackling inflation will be a ‘Day One priority’ for her,” Trump said. “But Day One for Kamala was three and a half years ago. Where has she been, and why hasn’t she addressed it?”

“We’re gonna straighten it out. We’re gonna bring prices way down and we’re gonna get it done fast, and with her it’s just talk,” Trump said.

Large posters displayed behind him, which he also posted to Truth Social, also highlighted price increases on several supermarket items.
“Kamala’s inflation nightmare continues to cost the average American family $1,100 every single month,” Trump noted.
The president’s classic trolling stunt, highlighting groceries are unaffordable for average Americans, was an instant hit on social media.

Trump went on to slam the “radical” Harris regime for allowing millions of illegals to pour into the country during her failed stint as “border czar,” raising energy prices, the botched Afghanistan withdrawal, and for stealing his “no tax on tips” policy.

Elsewhere during the presser, a reporter asked the former president if he’d ruminated on why God may have spared his life.
“You’ve spoken very passionately on how God saved your life, and I’m wondering have you put much thought into why God saved your life? As in for what purpose has he been shielding and protecting you?” the reporter asked.

“I’ve spoken passionately about it and something happened because that was a miracle,” Trump said going on to detail how he narrowly missed a would-be assassin’s bullet by turning his head to look at a chart.
“If I didn’t do that, I’m not here with you,” he said, adding, “So yeah, God has something to do with it. it’s a miracle and God had something to do with it.”
Harris on Friday will reportedly announce a plan to combat high grocery prices by implementing Soviet-style food price controls under the guise of banning price gouging.
