Walz Admin. Gave $2 Million to Charity Linked to Al Qaeda

The State of Minnesota paid $2 million to a group linked to Al Qaeda

The State of Minnesota, under Governor Tim Walz, gave a grant of $2 million to a charity with links to Al Qaeda, according to explosive reporting from The Washington Examiner.

The Examiner reviewed funding records for Walz’s administration and found that millions of dollars have been given to a group that has collaborated with a group known to fund Islamic terrorism.

The Islamic Association of North America received the money in the form of state grants between 2019 and 2024. According to The Examiner, Facebook posts revealed that the Islamic Association has been fundraising for a Michigan-based charity, Rahma International, that is linked to the Islamic Heritage Revival Society of Kuwait, which has been sanctioned as a terrorist group by the US government.

The news comes at a time of intense scrutiny for Kamala Harris’s running-mate. Walz has faced questions about his ties to Islamic extremists in Minnesota, including pro-Hitler cleric Asad Zaman, and about his links to the Chinese Communist Party, which are now subject to an official investigation by James Comer, Chairman of the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability.

“The CCP has sought to destroy the United States through coordinated influence and infiltration campaigns that target every aspect of American life, including our own elected officials,” said Comer, in a press release issued on Friday.

“Americans should be deeply concerned that Governor Walz, Kamala Harris’s vice-presidential running mate, has a longstanding and cozy relationship with China.”

“Mr. Walz has visited China dozens of times, served as a fellow at a Chinese institution that maintains a devotion to the CCP, and spoke alongside the President of a Chinese organization the State Department exposed as a CCP effort to influence and co-opt local leaders. FBI briefers recently informed the Committee that the Bureau’s Foreign Influence Task Force investigates CCP activity that is similar to China’s engagement with Governor Walz. The American people deserve to fully understand how deep Governor Walz’s relationship with China goes.”

Walz has also faced damaging claims of “stolen valor,” for misrepresenting and even lying about his career in the Minnesota National Guard.

Walz’s former battalion commander, retired Lt. Col. John Kolb, described Walz as a self-serving coward in a scorching Facebook post.

“I do not regret that Tim Walz retired early from the Minnesota Army National Guard, did not complete the Sergeants Major Academy, broke his enlistment contract or did not successfully complete any assignment as a Sergeant Major. Unwittingly, he got out of the way for better leadership,” Kolb wrote.
