Bolivian Child Sex Predator Released FOUR Times by US Authorities Before ICE Arrest

Illegal alien freed immediately after conviction for sexually assaulting minor in Virginia

An illegal alien from Bolivia has been apprehended after he was repeatedly released by authorities in sanctuary jurisdictions following a conviction for child sex assault and arrests for possession of child pornography and drunk driving.

On Friday, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) announced the arrest of Jose Fabricio Veizaga-Vargas, 36, in Virginia.

Veizaga-Vargas was caught by Border Patrol on April 24, 2023, after he illegally entered the U.S. near El Paso, Texas.

He was served with a notice to appear before a federal immigration judge in the future and released the day after he was captured.

On May 3, 2024, he was arrested in Fairfax County, Virginia, and charged with sexually assaulting a minor.

ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) Washington immediately lodged a detainer against Veizaga-Vargas with the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center.

“The Fairfax County Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court convicted Veizaga July 15 of misdemeanor sexual assault of a child aged 13 to 14 and sentenced him to six months in jail. The court then suspended all six months of the sentence,” ICE explained in a press release.

“Later that day, the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center refused to honor the immigration detainer and released Veizaga from custody without notification to ERO Washington, D.C.”

On August 8, some three weeks after his release, Veizaga-Vargas was again arrested by Fairfax County Police and charged with misdemeanor DWI after recording a blood alcohol level well above the legal driving limit.

ICE lodged another detainer with the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center which was ignored as the Bolivian was promptly released back to the streets.

On August 15, Veizaga-Vargas was arrested yet again by Fairfax County Police.

He was charged with seven counts of felony possession of child pornography and felony possession of obscene material with minor.

The Fairfax County Adult Detention Center released him the following day, ignoring an ICE hold request for the third time.

ICE ERO Washington officers finally caught up with Veizaga-Vargas on August 19 and took him into custody in Annandale, VA.

Authorities continue to catch dangerous foreign criminals illegally present in the U.S., many of whom have been previously released into the country by law enforcement agencies.
