Disgraced former FBI Director James Comey sounded the alarm on MSNBC Tuesday, claiming former President Donald Trump is “coming for” officials in the Justice Department and FBI if he’s elected in November.
“Trump is coming for those institutions. He knows their power and I think he has regrets that he didn’t work hard enough to corrupt them last time,” Comey said to MSNBC’s Alex Wagner.
“So he’s coming for them and that’s a danger for all Americans. He’s gonna put people in positions in those organizations.”

“He didn’t have all-stars the last time, he’ll have the bottom of the barrel this time, but people who will want to do his will and that should worry every American. The election matters.”
The ex-FBI Director, who was fired by President Trump in 2017 for leaking memos dealing with his interactions with Trump to the New York Times, then pleaded with the American people to vote for Joe Biden to prevent Trump from cleaning house at the DOJ and FBI.
“You can’t sit on the sidelines. I don’t care how you feel about Joe Biden, you must vote for him, because the consequences on the other side are too severe,” Comey said.
Comey also said on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” that day that Trump “is a threat to the rule of law in America,” adding that “to me that’s what this election is about, not about policy differences.”
Comey previously opined last year that Trump’s second term would be a “retribution presidency” and that he’s likely on his “enemies list.”
“Think about what four years of a retribution presidency might look like. He could order the investigation and prosecution of individuals who he sees as enemies,” Comey told former Biden press secretary Jen Psaki.
“I’m sure I’m on the enemies list, because the president constitutionally does oversee the executive branch entirely, which includes the Department of Justice, prosecutors and investigators.”
Trump has vowed to purge the administrative state AKA the Deep State if elected in 2024, assailing the unelected bureaucrats for waging “illegal psychological warfare campaigns against the American people” since 2015.
Comey’s assertions that Trump is a “threat to the rule of law” and that he regrets not making the DOJ and FBI “corrupt” enough are amusing given Comey played a key role in advancing the debunked “Russia collusion” hoax that effectively functioned as a soft coup to remove Trump from office.
Former Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe declassified former CIA Director John Brennan’s handwritten notes in 2020 detailing his briefing of former President Obama about Hillary Clinton’s “plan” to tie Trump to Russian interference in the 2016 election.
Additionally, a bombshell February report found Obama and Brennan called on their partners in the “Five Eyes” intelligence agencies to illegally spy on Donald Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign.
That surveillance led the FBI to initiate the “Crossfire Hurricane” counterintelligence investigation into potential “collusion” between Trump’s campaign and the Russian government.
