15-year-old migrant girl says suspect raped her in room of hotel being used to shelter migrants
A Haitian man arrested for raping a 15-year-old girl at a ‘migrant hotel’ in Massachusetts entered the U.S. via a federal parole program that allows 30,000 migrants from select countries to fly into American airports every month, according to reports.
Cory Alvarez, 26, was arrested on Thursday in Rockland, Massachusetts.
Authorities believe Alvarez raped a teenage girl who was staying at a Comfort Inn being used by the state to house migrants, WCVB reports.
Speaking in Creole — indicating she may also be from Haiti — the victim says she was raped in a hotel room by a man she identified as Alvarez.
“I told him to leave me alone, but he didn’t stop,” she said.
Department of Homeland Security (DHS) officials have reportedly confirmed that Alvarez arrived in the U.S. in June of 2023 via the CHNV parole program, which enables 30,000 citizens of Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua, and Venezuela to fly into the country each month and receive work permits and authorization to remain for two years.
More than 138,000 Haitian nationals have been brought into the U.S. under the program since January of 2023, Fox News has learned.
