Will Joe Biden’s DOJ prosecute his son after he defied the House Oversight Committee’s lawful subpoena? — Don’t hold your breath.
Hunter Biden defied a Congressional subpoena on Wednesday and instead delivered a speech on Capitol Hill to deny claims his father Joe Biden was “financially involved” with his shady business dealings.
Hunter railed against the House Oversight Committee’s “illegitimate investigations” into his family’s business enterprises and claimed he was exempt from appearing in a closed-door deposition.

The Committee then announced they would initiate contempt of Congress proceedings against Hunter for defying a lawful subpoena.
“Hunter Biden defied a lawful subpoena today, and we will now initiate contempt of Congress proceedings. There will be no special treatment because his last name is Biden. Joe Biden & his family must be held accountable for their corruption,” the Committee said on X.

Notably, Joe Biden himself recently asserted that anyone who defies a congressional subpoena should be prosecuted.
“Mr. President, what’s your message to people who defy Congressional subpoenas…Should they be prosecuted by the Justice Department?” CNN’s Kaitlan Collins asked.
Biden replied, “Yes.”

Donald Trump Jr., who himself was deposed five times by House Democrats after being subpoenaed over January 6, pointed out the two-tiered system of justice and claimed Hunter likely won’t receive the same treatment.
“Hunter Biden just refused to show up for his congressional testimony. I’m looking forward to the same amount of outrage from the media as they’d have if I blew off any of my 5 congressional subpoenas… but since they’re covering for Joe Biden & his corruption I won’t hold my breath,” he wrote on X.
