“Probably 5 to 7 minutes of Trump speaking…we noticed a guy bear-crawling up the roof of the building beside us. 50 feet away from us,” witness says.
A MAGA rally attendee said he witnessed firsthand the suspected shooter position himself on a nearby roof before firing shots at former President Donald Trump.
The rally-goer said he was pointing at the suspected gunman, who claimed was brandishing a rifle and “bear-crawling” on the roof into position before he tried warning police, who initially dismissed his concerns.
“Probably 5 to 7 minutes of Trump speaking…we noticed a guy bear-crawling up the roof of the building beside us. 50 feet away from us,” the witness told BBC News.

“So we’re standing there, we’re pointing at the guy crawling up the roof. He had a rifle. We could clearly him with a rifle. Absolutely.”
“We’re pointing at him, the police are down there running around on the ground. We’re like, ‘hey man, there’s a guy on the roof with a rifle!’ And the police are like, ‘Huh? What?’ like they didn’t know what was going on.”
“We’re like, right here on the roof. We can see him from right here! We see him! He’s crawling! Next thing you know, I’m thinking to myself, why is Trump still speaking? Why have they not pulled him off the stage?”
He said he continued “pointing at him for two, three minutes” before Secret Service noticed the commotion, but by then it was too late.
“Secret Service was looking at us from the top of the barn. I’m pointing at that roof. Next thing you know, five shots rang out,” he said.
The witness went on to say he was “100% certain” the shots came from the man on the roof he saw crawl up there.
The Butler County DA told reporters the “the shooter is dead, an audience member was killed and another person shot was in serious condition.”
