Local news reporter says he was told mayor’s office staffer accidentally posted video.
Philadelphia Mayor Charelle Parker accidentally revealed Democrat presidential nominee Kamala Harris’ running mate will be Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro, reports claimed.
On Friday afternoon, Parker’s account uploaded a video touting Philadelphia leaders’ support of the Harris-Shapiro ticket.

“I can’t think of a better partner than our governor, Josh Shapiro,” declares Parker in the video.
Following the video going live, Philadelphia Magazine writer Ernest Owens claimed he’d received word it had been accidentally posted by Parker’s staff and was instead supposed to be published after Harris announcement had been made public.
“Philly political sources have told me that a staffer connected with Mayor Cherelle Parker’s team accidentally posted the video today,” Owens wrote.

“The video was scheduled for Monday…after VP Kamala Harris was expected to announce her pick.”
The accidental leak was roundly mocked on social media as another example of Democrat incompetence.

However, later Friday afternoon The Philadelphia Inquirer attempted to throw water on the rumors claiming an anonymous source had denied the video revealed the VP pick, but was instead just an endorsement of Shapiro.
”This is not an announcement of anything. This is just the mayor showing her support for a longtime friend who we know is one of the people being considered,” the “source close to Parker” claimed.
The video came as Harris’ campaign has yet to officially unveil their choice, with Shapiro, Arizona Sen. Mark Kelly, Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear and Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz reportedly all in contention.
