The first trailer for A24’s Civil War just dropped Wednesday, it depicts journalists navigating a war-torn America.
The release is set for spring 2024, just in time for the presidential election season of a government that wants a divided America:
The film is written and directed by Alex Garland, who also wrote 28 Days Later, Ex Machina, and Annihilation.
The tagline is “All Empires Fall.”
One scene shows a distraught man being interrogated by a white man holding a rifle in front of a girl.
“There’s some kind of misunderstanding here,” says actor Wagner Moura. “We’re American.”
“Ok,” responds the armed antagonist. “What kind of American are you?”
The premiere trailer comes on the heels of a similar movie called Leave The World Behind which showcases a cyberattack that shuts down power and collapses the United States.
Former President Barack Obama consulted and was a producer for Leave The World Behind, the film contains anti-white racism.
