Obama “knows this is going to be a close race” and claims Trump is “pretty dangerous for democracy.”
Former President Barack Obama is concerned Joe Biden will lose the 2024 election as poll after poll shows the puppet president losing ground to Donald Trump.
Obama “feels that Democrats very well could lose,” according to sources cited in the Wall Street Journal.

Those with concerns include former President Barack Obama, who “knows this is going to be a close race” and “feels that Democrats very well could lose” the 2024 election, according to a person familiar with his thinking. Obama worries that “the alternative is pretty dangerous for democracy,” the person said.
This comes as numerous polls now show Trump leading Joe Biden in seven crucial swing states in a hypothetical 2024 general election matchup.

Additionally, Biden’s approval hit a record low last week over his handling of the Israel-Hamas conflict and the economy.
Obama’s concerns are hardly surprising given his former adviser David Axelrod last month called for Biden to step aside to let a younger candidate represent the Democrat Party.
“It’s very late to change horses; a lot will happen in the next year that no one can predict & Biden’s team says his resolve to run is firm. He’s defied CW before but this will send tremors of doubt thru the party–not ‘bed-wetting,’ but legitimate concern,” Axelrod wrote on X.

“The greatest concern is that his biggest liability is the one thing he can’t change. Among all the unpredictables there is one thing that is sure: the age arrow only points in one direction,” he noted.
Liberal talk show host Bill Maher likewise warned last month that Biden will likely lose against Trump, citing his cognitive issues and advanced age.
“Do I think Biden can do the job? Absolutely. I don’t think he can win the job and that’s what I care about,” Maher said.
“He’s going to lose. Because the people think he’s too old. And perception is reality, I’m sorry,” he added.
As Obama once famously quipped, “Never underestimate Joe Biden’s ability to fuck things up.”
