Trio of suspects reportedly refuse to pay, destroy restaurant property, then beat owner in parking lot
Authorities in Texas are searching for a group of suspects who attacked an elderly restaurant owner after destroying property inside and refusing to pay for their meal, according to reports.
The shocking incident unfolded at around noon on Sunday in Austin.
Police were called to Chekos Mexican Restaurant where they discovered Sergio Alberto Vazquez suffering from injuries sustained during an altercation in the parking lot.
Vazquez, who is in his 70s, told officers he had asked diners to leave his establishment after they declined to pay their tab.
“I say, ‘Okay, don’t worry about it. Don’t pay me, but please leave the restaurant and don’t come back,’” Vazquez told Fox 7.
The suspects, identified as two females and a male, proceeded to smash plates before strolling out of the eatery.
Vazquez said he followed them outside and was attempting to photograph the license plate of their vehicle when they launched a brutal attack captured on camera.

The suspects can be seen beating Vazquez as another customer and employee intervene.
Eventually they fled in a Nissan SUV and are reportedly still on the loose.
Maria Vazquez, the victim’s daughter, has been posting frequently about the assault on social media, imploring the public for prayers and helpful information.
“If that customer hadn’t tried to help my father, who knows what would of happened. I know my father is hurting & tiered. But he says he’s strong & he’s working. But no person should be treated that way!” she wrote in a lengthy Facebook post detailing the attack.
None of the suspects have been identified or arrested at the time of this writing, according to the latest available updates.
