A father of four was killed and another person wounded when a suspect opened fire on passing vehicles on a busy street in California this week, according to reports.
The shocking incident unfolded at around 7 a.m. on Monday in San Jacinto, a city in Riverside County.
San Jacinto Sheriff’s Station deputies arrived on the scene after multiple motorists were struck by gunfire.
Surveillance footage of the rampage has been circulating on social media.

“The two gunshot victims were transported to a local hospital for treatment. Despite lifesaving measures, one of the victims was pronounced deceased,” the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office explained in a press release.
Investigators identified the suspect as 39-year-old Julio Cesar Rodarte, a local resident.
Rodarte was taken into custody a short time later and charged with murder and ten counts of attempted murder.
The deceased victim was identified as 42-year-old Victor Hugo Leon.
Leon, who was reportedly on his way home from an overnight shift at a warehouse job, is survived by his four children and wife of 13 years, Griselda Zepeda.
“More time kept passing by. I just had a feeling something bad had happened,” Zepeda told KTLA. “After him not calling me back after 40 times, I knew something was bad. I reported him missing. I went to every hospital hoping they would tell me he was there.”
“I don’t know what was going through his mind, the last breath he took. It hurts me so much.”
Authorities have released limited information about the case amid an ongoing investigation.
