Venezuelan suspects all arrived illegally in U.S. shortly before brutal robbery

A gang of illegal aliens from Venezuela were arrested after they choked and robbed a passenger aboard a commuter train in Chicago, according to reports.

The disturbing incident unfolded on February 17 but footage was just obtained by Fox News following a court hearing this week.

Cameras inside a Chicago Transit Authority train car show the 49-year-old victim interacting with four male suspects, some of whom appear to be drinking alcohol and smoking.

Suddenly, one of the suspects grabbed the man from behind and put him in a chokehold.

The victim was eventually forced to the ground at which point his assailant put a knife to his throat and demanded his valuables, according to Chicago police.

The gang reportedly stole around $400 and the victim’s cell phone before fleeing the train at the next stop but were arrested approximately 45 minutes later.

The suspects, who ranged in age from 18 to 22, were identified as Fernando Loyo-Rodriguez, Wilker Gutierrez Sierra, Carlos Carreno-Carreno and Yonnier Guasamucare Garcia.

They are all Venezuelan ‘migrants’ who had recently arrived in the U.S. and were staying at a taxpayer-funded shelter for illegal aliens at the time of the crime.

“Responding officers charged each of them with robbery and aggravated battery/strangulation. They have since been charged with attempted murder,” Fox News reports.

One of the men was released on electronic monitoring while the rest remain in custody.

Three of the suspects were reportedly arrested for shoplifting a month prior to the robbery.

Their next hearing has been set for August 28.
