Suspects break through sheetrock and flee as Nashville police take half an hour to respond
Vigilant citizens in Tennessee trapped a group of thieves inside a store while waiting half an hour for police to arrive, according to reports.
The wild incident unfolded at around 3:30 p.m. on Saturday in Nashville.
Four masked suspects in hoodies stormed a Perfumania at a Tanger Outlets shopping mall and began grabbing merchandise, WSMV reports.
Footage shot by a witness has been circulating on social media.

Workers quickly escaped from the store and locked both the front and back doors as shoppers banded together to block the entrance.
Realizing they were trapped inside, the suspects began bashing the rear exit door with a ladder in an attempt to flee.
Having no luck breaking out, they started smashing the wall next to the doorway and eventually damaged the sheetrock badly enough to enable their escape.
Metro Nashville Police arrived some 30 minutes later but the suspects were long gone.
“They [shoppers and store owners] said this happened a lot in their area, like in that mall,” a witness told WSMV.
“The other people seemed really upset about it because they live in the area. They’re just upset that it happens so often.”
The suspects were estimated to be between 16 and 20 years old. It is unclear if any have been apprehended at the time of this writing.
