Woman dragged into ocean and nearly drowned during brutal rampage on the sand in Santa Monica

A male suspect was arrested after he brutally attacked three people during a violent crime spree on a beach in Southern California this week, according to reports.

The shocking string of events unfolded at around 9:45 a.m. on Monday in Santa Monica.

According to Santa Monica Closeup (SMC), which captured footage of the suspect’s arrest, a beachgoer heard a woman being attacked at a lifeguard tower, and when they intervened, they were also assaulted.

“I was sitting on the beach and heard screaming coming from Lifeguard Tower 13,” the Good Samaritan said.

“I approached the situation and saw a man attacking a young woman, trying to rob her. I pushed him off, but he punched me in the face and attacked her again. I tackled him, and he turned his attention towards me, attempting to strangle me and biting my ear.”

The suspect then set his sights on another woman, reportedly dragging her into the ocean and “attempting to drown her.”

A lifeguard rushed to the victim’s aid and Santa Monica Police Department (SMPD) officers arrived a short time later and arrested the man.
