Republican-led SAVE Act would require proof of citizenship in order to vote in elections.
The Biden administration issued a statement against the House Republican proposal requiring proof of citizenship to vote, claiming the bill would “make it much harder for eligible Americans” to vote in the election.

House Republicans this week are set to introduce the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act, which would require documentary proof of citizenship to vote with either a driver’s license, passport, or other form of ID.
After mentioning that “it’s already illegal for noncitizens to vote in Federal elections,” the Biden administration stressed that “states already have effective safeguards in place to verify voters’ eligibility and maintain the accuracy of voter rolls.”
“This bill would do nothing to safeguard our elections, but it would make it much harder for all eligible Americans to register to vote and increase the risk that eligible voters are purged from voter rolls,” the statement read, without elaborating on how exactly the bill would make it more difficult for eligible Americans to vote.

“The evidence is clear that the current laws to prevent noncitizens voting are working as intended — it is extraordinarily rare for noncitizens to break the law by voting in Federal elections.”
As we’ve reported, it’s not particularly difficult for noncitizens to register to vote, and some illegal aliens have openly announced their intention to vote in the election.
In fact, government agencies in 49 states are providing voter registration forms to illegal aliens without requiring proof of citizenship, according to reports.
This form from the battleground state of Arizona’s AHCCCS (Medicaid office) explicitly explains that citizenship status is not required to register to vote in the Federal election.
If you do not submit proof of citizenship and we cannot acquire your proof of citizenship from the Arizona Motor Vehicle Division or the statewide voter registration database, you will receive a ‘federal-only’ ballot, which has only federal races and no state, county, or local races or initiatives/referendums.

Likewise, an election loophole in the swing state of Wisconsin allows illegal aliens to obtain an ID to vote.
“Getting a free ID for Voting is easy even if you do not have the documentation to get a regular Wisconsin ID!” the state’s Dept. of Transportation website reads.
Meanwhile, just two years after banning ballot drop boxes from being used in its elections, the Wisconsin Supreme Court reversed the ruling and will now allow the use of ballot drop boxes to resume.
Muckraker journalists also showed noncitizens in North Carolina admit they were registered to vote in the election.

They also uncovered an NGO in Mexico distributing flyers to illegal aliens urging them to vote for Joe Biden in the 2024 presidential election before crossing the U.S. southern border.
The SAVE Act is so cut and dry in laboring to secure elections that Elon Musk claimed anyone who opposes it amounts to a traitor against the United States.

But that’s exactly what the Biden administration and Democrats are doing.
In fact, Democrats announced Sunday that they intend to “bring out the big guns” to try and block the SAVE Act from passing in the House.
