Teen suspect arrested after stealing car, hitting officer, and smashing multiple vehicles during high-stakes pursuit
Authorities say they arrested a teen suspected of stealing a car, hitting an officer, and ramming multiple vehicles during a rampage that ended on a rooftop in New York City this week.
The harrowing incident unfolded just before 5 p.m. on Sunday in Queens.
New York Police Department (NYPD) officers had just pulled over a stolen sedan when the driver took dangerous evasive action.

Despite the suspect being trapped on a crowded one-way street, he managed to turn the stolen vehicle around after barreling backwards onto a sidewalk, nearly hitting a young girl and other pedestrians.
He struck an NYPD officer and other cars while speeding away, but not before a cop managed to slap an AirTag on the sedan.
After fleeing for several blocks, the suspect jumped out of the stolen car and continued on foot, eventually climbing up a ladder onto the rooftops above.
Officers eventually caught up with the suspect and arrested him as a crowd gathered and watched from nearby buildings.
“I didn’t do anything,” the suspect could be heard insisting as he was handcuffed.
Keyah Richardson, 19, was taken into custody and hit with a slew of charges, including attempted aggravated murder, first-degree reckless endangerment, leaving the scene of an accident with injury, vehicular assault, fleeing an officer in a motor vehicle, and grand larceny auto, NYPD told the New York Post.
The officer who was struck was treated for non-life threatening injuries at a local hospital.
