He issued the plea for help after a massive aerial attack on Kyiv on Monday.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has called for help from the air forces of his European neighbors to destroy the waves of Russian missiles and drones that again massively hit targets across Ukraine on Monday.
“In the various regions of Ukraine, we could do much more to protect lives if the air forces of our European neighbors would work together with our F-16 fighter jets and our anti-aircraft defenses,” he said in a speech broadcast on Telegram, calling for “solutions.”
“If this unity has worked so well in the Middle East, it should work in Europe,” he added, apparently referring to the help given to Israel by its Western allies to repel recent airstrikes.

“America, Britain, France and other partners have the power to help us stop terrorism. We need solutions,” he added.
During Monday’s attack, the Russians launched over 100 missiles of different types and the same number of Shahed kamikaze drones over Ukraine, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky tweeted on his Telegram channel. He described the attack as one of the biggest since the invasion, adding that the invaders had targeted critical civilian infrastructure.
“In most of our regions, from Kharkov and Kyiv to Odessa and our western regions. Unfortunately, there are casualties. My condolences to all relatives and friends,” Zelensky said. There was also a lot of damage in the energy sector and restoration work is underway.
“Against the backdrop of these events, it is particularly important that our partners implement their obligations regarding air and missile defense systems. Ukraine and the West should also finally achieve the joint shooting down of missiles and drones,” the president emphasized.
