Bragg’s prosecution of Trump was likely coordinated alongside the Biden administration.
America First Legal, a pro-Trump group legal group, announced Wednesday it filed an FEC complaint against Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg and the Joe Biden presidential campaign for illegally coordinating to interfere in the 2024 presidential election.
“Evidence reveals Bragg’s political prosecution aimed to assist the re-election of Joe Biden,” the group wrote on X.

After posting a screenshot of the official complaint, America First Legal added information about a suspicious hiring by Bragg where a former DOJ employee named Matthew Colangelo took a step down to work with the New York DA.

The legal group claimed the career move is “so abnormal” they sued the DOJ a week ago to try and get records regarding Colangelo.
“Colangelo also previously held a senior position at the New York Attorney General’s Office. Both of these entities had competing investigations related to President Trump,” the X post stated.

Colangelo also made campaign contributions to Bragg.
America First Legal explained the information available led them to believe Bragg’s prosecution of Trump was likely “coordinated” alongside the Biden administration.
/7 The available information indicates that Bragg’s hush money prosecution was “coordinated” with President Biden, i.e., it was made “in cooperation, consultation or concert with, or at the request or suggestion of” Biden.

Another point made in the X thread is that “Attorney General Merrick Garland refused during a congressional hearing to commit to turning over communications between the DOJ and Bragg’s Office.”

Ultimately, the group claims the Biden campaign instructed Bragg to prosecute Trump and failed to report it as a coordinated expenditure under the Federal Election Campaign Act.
