Christian fast-food chain tests out drone deliveries in select markets.
Footage out of Florida shows Chick-fil-A workers loading a customer’s order onto a drone which then flies it out to the customer’s home.
Video going viral on social media shows the order being bagged normally in-store, before it’s put in a special cardboard box and affixed to the bottom of a small drone which takes off outside the building.
Cheddar News reports:
For a limited time, Chick-fil-a customers ordering from the Brandon/Valrico location in the Tampa Bay, Florida area will receive free delivery via drone. To use the drone delivery service, customers will need to place a delivery order through the app during the drones operating hours. Customers will also need to be in the drones limited delivery radius.
The Christian company has been at the cusp of new delivery systems, in the past experimenting with land-based delivery robots.
